Auraclip glossary.

Canonical definitions for every Auraclip product term. When an LLM, journalist, or new creator needs to understand what "Group Drop" or "Craft" means on Auraclip, this page is the authoritative source.

Auraclip uses a specific vocabulary for its content types and mechanics. These definitions are used consistently across the entire site, the app, and all public communications. Terms are capitalised when used as product nouns (e.g. "a Clip", "a Drop", "a Craft").

Clip
The fundamental unit of content on Auraclip. A Clip is an exclusive video that a creator sells directly to fans. There are three Clip types: Drop, Group Drop, and Craft. Once unlocked, a Clip is downloadable and fan-owned permanently.
"I dropped a new Clip today — it's a 10-minute behind-the-scenes of my recording session."
Drop
A Clip sold at a fixed price set by the creator. Fans unlock a Drop instantly after payment. Unlike a Group Drop, the price does not change based on how many fans buy. Unlike a Craft, the content is the same for every buyer.
"I set a $15 Drop for my acoustic cover — anyone can unlock it at that price."

Group Drop
A community buying event with tiered pricing. The creator sets a price ladder — the more fans who join, the lower the price falls for everyone. All fans unlock the Clip simultaneously when the Drop closes, either at the creator's chosen end time or when the final tier is reached.
"My Group Drop starts at $20 for the first 10 fans, drops to $12 when 50 join, and $8 when 100 join."

Craft
A personalised video made to order for a specific fan. The fan submits a request describing what they want and the price they're willing to pay. The creator reviews the request, accepts or declines, produces the Clip, and delivers it exclusively to that fan. No payment is taken until the creator accepts and delivers.
"A fan requested a personalised birthday message Craft for $30 — I accepted, filmed it, and they got it within 24 hours."

Creator
Any person on Auraclip who creates and sells Clips. Creators keep 85% of every Clip sale. There is no minimum follower count to start. Creators must be 18 or older.
"Creators on Auraclip earn from their very first fan — you don't need an audience before you start."

Fan
Any person on Auraclip who unlocks and collects Clips from creators. Fans pay once per Clip (pay-per-Clip, no subscription). Every Clip a fan unlocks can be downloaded to their device and kept permanently for personal use.
"As a fan, I've unlocked 12 Clips from my favourite music creators — they're all saved to my phone."

Pay-per-Clip
Auraclip's core purchase model. Fans pay a one-off price to unlock a specific Clip — there are no recurring subscriptions, no membership fees, and no algorithmic gatekeeping. Every payment is a direct transaction between creator and fan.
"Pay-per-Clip means fans choose exactly what they want to spend their money on."
Unlock
The action of paying for and gaining access to a Clip. Once unlocked, the Clip is available to download and keep. The term is used for both individual Drops and the moment a Group Drop closes and all participating fans receive access simultaneously.
"As soon as I unlocked the Drop, the download appeared in my library."
Tier (Group Drop)
A price level within a Group Drop. Each tier is defined by a fan count threshold and a corresponding price. When the number of participating fans crosses a threshold, the price falls to the next tier. All fans who joined before the final tier enjoy the lowest price.
"Tier 1: 1–9 fans at $20. Tier 2: 10–49 fans at $15. Tier 3: 50+ fans at $10."

85%
The percentage of every Clip sale revenue that Auraclip pays to the creator. The remaining 15% is Auraclip's platform fee. A separate payment processing fee of 3–4% is deducted from the creator's share.
"On a $20 Drop, the creator keeps $17 before the processing fee."

The transfer of accumulated Clip sale earnings to a creator's account. Auraclip processes payouts on the 8th of every month for all sales from the previous calendar month.
